The Budget should be balanced!

"The Budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance of foreign lands should be curtailed lest the Republic become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."

Marcus Tullius Cicero, 55 BC

The Global Political Awakening and the New World Order

Watch out for governments: technology, like CCTV, biometrics and data gathering gives them the power to be truly oppressive. On the other hand, the people have nowadays have the power to communicate freely and to let the news and ideas flow internationally via the internet. But do not believe governments (or global oligarchy) will give up easily:

"Populations will be significantly more challenging to control," argues the writer: "economically, politically, socially, psychologically and spiritually. Thus, from the point of view of the global oligarchy, the only method of imposing order and control – on this unique and historical human condition – is through the organized chaos of economic crises, war, and the rapid expansion and institutionalization of a global scientific dictatorship."
"Our hope is their fear; and our greatest fear is their only hope."

Global Research

There is a new and unique development in human history that is taking place around the world; it is unprecedented in reach and volume, and it is also the greatest threat to all global power structures: the ‘global political awakening.’ The term was coined by Zbigniew Brzezinski, and refers to the fact that, as Brzezinski wrote:

For the first time in history almost all of humanity is politically activated, politically conscious and politically interactive. Global activism is generating a surge in the quest for cultural respect and economic opportunity in a world scarred by memories of colonial or imperial domination.[1]

It is, in essence, this massive ‘global political awakening’ which presents the gravest and greatest challenge to the organized powers of globalization and the global political economy: nation-states, multinational corporations and banks, central banks, international organizations, military, intelligence, media and academic institutions. The Transnational Capitalist Class (TCC), or ‘Superclass’ as David Rothkopf refers to them, are globalized like never before. For the first time in history, we have a truly global and heavily integrated elite. As elites have globalized their power, seeking to construct a ‘new world order’ of global governance and ultimately global government, they have simultaneously globalized populations.

The ‘Technological Revolution’ (or ‘Technetronic’ Revolution, as Brzezinski termed it in 1970) involves two major geopolitical developments. The first is that as technology advances, systems of mass communication rapidly accelerate, and the world’s people are able to engage in instant communication with one another and gain access to information from around the world. In it, lies the potential – and ultimately a central source – of a massive global political awakening. Simultaneously, the Technological Revolution has allowed elites to redirect and control society in ways never before imagined, ultimately culminating in a global scientific dictatorship, as many have warned of since the early decades of the 20th century. The potential for controlling the masses has never been so great, as science unleashes the power of genetics, biometrics, surveillance, and new forms of modern eugenics; implemented by a scientific elite equipped with systems of psycho-social control (the use of psychology in controlling the masses).

What is the “Global Political Awakening”?

To answer this question, it is best to let Zbigniew Brzezinski speak for himself, since it is his term. In 2009, Zbigniew Brzezinski published an article based on a speech he delivered to the London-based Chatham House in their academic journal, International Affairs. Chatham House, formerly the Royal Institute of International Relations, is the British counterpart to the US-based Council on Foreign Relations, both of which were founded in 1921 as “Sister Institutes” to coordinate Anglo-American foreign policy. His article, “Major foreign policy challenges for the next US President,” aptly analyzes the major geopolitical challenges for the Obama administration in leading the global hegemonic state at this critical juncture. Brzezinski refers to the ‘global political awakening’ as “a truly transformative event on the global scene,” since:

For the first time in human history almost all of humanity is politically activated, politically conscious and politically interactive. There are only a few pockets of humanity left in the remotest corners of the world that are not politically alert and engaged with the political turmoil and stirrings that are so widespread today around the world. The resulting global political activism is generating a surge in the quest for personal dignity, cultural respect and economic opportunity in a world painfully scarred by memories of centuries-long alien colonial or imperial domination.[2]....more

Do Democracies Only Work With a Ponzi Scheme In Place?

Nassim Taleb recently stated that is impossible for a democracy to face and solve problems like the current financial one. Politicians just can't. With their "Ultra Bright" smile they keep on repeating their mantra that - if you only would vote for them - everything will be all right. The problem is, they will have no problem to let the system fail as it is not in their interest to be a solve it. A better word for the current politicians would be a "promiser".
Now the current EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barosso - not a politician but a civil servant - joins many bloggers and a few economists, with an apocalyptic vision that democracies could disappear in Southern Europe. Reason for Barroso's utterances: debt that cannot be paid off. Barrosso also describes the many promises from the "promisers" who kept on saying: "Just borrow the money, phone Wall street for creative accounting, print the stuff, falsify the statistics, anything to keep the populus happy".
So apparently democracies only work when the sun is shining? What a shit system is that? We haven't reach the bottom yet, but we will when pension funds and financial institutions fall apart. Apparently our current capitalist system works only when the interest on capital invested by old investor is being paid off with capital received from the new investors, also called a "Ponzi" or "Pyramid" Scheme. To feed this system it needs constant bubbles to keep the machine running. But, when Central Banks are unable to blow new bubbles, new investors dry up and the system is falling apart!
We, people in the West, do have a "Social Contract" with the Power Elite, which says: "Whatever it takes, you keep the system going and growing and we do not complain or revolt". Is the Power Elite panicking because they are defaulting on their part of the Social Contract? It looks like it. If Barroso is right expect riots and blood on the street. Prepare to get out of the grid!

Nightmare vision for Europe as EU chief warns 'democracy could disappear' in Greece, Spain and Portugal

Daily Mail

Democracy could ‘collapse’ in Greece, Spain and Portugal unless urgent action is taken to tackle the debt crisis, the head of the European Commission has warned.

In an extraordinary briefing to trade union chiefs last week, Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso set out an ‘apocalyptic’ vision in which crisis-hit countries in southern Europe could fall victim to military coups or popular uprisings as interest rates soar and public services collapse because their governments run out of money.

The stark warning came as it emerged that EU chiefs have begun work on an emergency bailout package for Spain which is likely to run into hundreds of billions of

A £650 billion bailout for Greece has already been agreed.

John Monks, former head of the TUC, said he had been ‘shocked’ by the severity of the warning from Mr Barroso, who is a former prime minister of Portugal.

Mr Monks, now head of the European TUC, said: ‘I had a discussion with Barroso last Friday about what can be done for Greece, Spain, Portugal and the rest and his message was blunt: “Look, if they do not carry out these austerity packages, these countries could virtually disappear in the way that we know them as democracies. They've got no choice, this is it.”

He's very, very worried. He shocked us with an apocalyptic vision of democracies in Europe collapsing because of the state of indebtedness.’

Greece, Spain and Portugal, which only became democracies in the 1970s, are all facing dire problems with their public finances. All three countries have a history of military coups.

Greece has been rocked by a series of national strikes and riots this year following the announcement of swingeing cuts to public spending designed to curb Britain’s deficit.

Spain and Portugal have also announced austerity measures in recent weeks amid growing signs that the international markets are increasingly worried they could default on their debts.

US soccer players stuck in traffic jam caused by elephant

Yahoo

RUSTENBURG, South Africa – Forget getting past England. The U.S. soccer team had to get past the elephants first.

The U.S. team was delayed twice Friday when elephants blocked the road, the second back-up coming as the squad was traveling to its training session at Royal Bafokeng Stadium. The elephant was munching on a tree as the Americans left the Bakubung Bush Lodge, and it moved to the side of the road after about 4 minutes.

"Everybody had their cell phones out, pictures were being taken," coach Bob Bradley said. "It was all part of the experience."

Earlier in the afternoon, a bus carrying 10 players on their way to an open-air market at the entrance to the team hotel got stuck behind an elephant, spokesman Michael Kammarman said. Players had timed the trip to get back to the hotel in time for the start of the World Cup opener between South Africa and Mexico.

Signs outside the U.S. hotel warn: "ELEPHANTS COME CLOSE TO OUR FENCE KEEP A DISTANCE OF 30 METERS AND PLEASE BE QUIET" and "BABOONS ARE DANGEROUS — PLEASE KEEP CLEAR OF THEM AND DO NOT FEED THEM." Another one reads, "THIS IS BIG 5 TERRITORY TREAT THE ANIMALS WITH RESPECT AND THEY WILL RETURN THE COMPLIMENT."

"It was cool," U.S. captain Carlos Bocanegra said of the up-close encounter with the animal kingdom. "A big elephant, just eating on the path out of our hotel."

It wasn't clear if the same elephant caused both delays. Or whether it will now have a starring role in Saturday's coverage by Walt Disney-owned ABC.

Deficits Do Not Matter Anymore...

Just print your way out of misery!

That would be great day when deficits would not matter anymore. Recently I chatted to a London analyst and he also told me that he is not bearish on the world economy "as our problem is only debt".
Illusions, of course. The financial crisis would have been something of the past already if the government would have send everybody a cheque of a million US$ to spend and to revive the economy. Oh, in the meantime, please abolish taxes also, just print the money.
That would be the day!

USA: What They Say And What They Do.

From Pitchinteractive.com a telling visualisation of US government spending on certain areas vs. media time on those areas. Yes, you are right, you guessed it.

"What our government spends vs. how much we talk about it. Two important aspects that help define and shape our society. Most Americans know that our government spends an insane amount of our tax dollars on defense, but how do you show just how much we spend compared to all other areas in our country? We wanted to use a minimal approach with no labeling necessary. The design says it all and shows what almost 70% of Federal contract spending going to defense looks like com paired to all other agencies (Education get's around 1%). Google Sniffs Your Private Data And Hands It Over To The Government.

Who stops these guys? Why handing over data to a regulator? Why don't they just destroy everything? What is a regulator going to do with the data? Since when does a regulator have right to store my WI-FI data. Lawyers? Someone? Wake up. Work to do!

Google to give private Wi-Fi data to European regulators: FT

Breitbart

Google will begin handing over private data mistakenly gathered from wireless Internet connections to European regulations within the next two days, the Financial Times reported Friday.

The news comes amid growing controversy over the Internet giant's admission that Street View cars taking photos in more than 30 countries had inadvertently gathered fragments of personal data sent over unsecured Wi-Fi systems.

Google would hand information initially to data protection authorities in Germany, where prosecutors have opened an investigation into the firm, and then in France and Spain, the FT reported.

It would also publish the results of an external audit into what happened, as well as the results of an internal review into all its privacy practices.

Google chief executive Eric Schmidt told the business daily he could not rule out the possibility that the data included bank account details.

"We screwed up. Let?s be very clear about that," Schmidt told the FT in an interview. "If you are honest about your mistakes it is the best defence for it not happening again."

Obama's Political Jobs Report. Mission Accomplished?

After Being Milked By The System, Finally Good News For The Innocent?

The most interesting comment on the job report, due today, came from Jesse. Unfortunately he deleted it yesterday. The comment involved the spin the Obama administration is claiming to have succeeded in turning the economy around. "It is over, everything is getting better". "Mission accomplished." Jesse wrote that Obama was trying to say: IF SOMETHING HAPPENS NOW IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT ANYMORE. THEY DID THEIR JOB AND SUCCEEDED.
Interesting comment. You see the psychology and spin behind it? Is Obama expecting something to happen? Something the USA cannot control, huh? whatever that may be. In any case, expect "good news" in every newspaper and financial media. They need to shout harder as they have been busy spinning news for the last 2 years. More people on food stamps, more people asking for unemployment benefits, good news just does not add up.
